MARDI GRAS IN THE ARK-LA-TEX

The countdown to Mardi Gras has begun. Come be part of the excitement in Shreveport-Bossier. Pull out your tuxedo or your ball gown and dress to the nines for a glamorous ball. Or join parade-goers shouting, "Throw me something, mister!" and prepare to be rewarded with a shower of beads, cups, doubloons and more at one of our parades. Enjoy king cakes, music, food and the Mardi Gras spirit at the Mardi Gras Upstate festival. Then bid farewell to the season at the midnight closing of Mardi Gras ceremony atop the neon-lit Texas Street Bridge. At Mardi Gras in Shreveport-Bossier, there's something for everyone!

Mardi Gras Krewes:

A Krewe (pronounced in the same way as "crew") is an organization that exists to celebrate Mardi Gras, also known as Carnival, with parades, balls, parties, supporting good causes, etc. Krewe members pay fees that can range from $20 a year to thousands of dollars a year. Membership criteria also ranges from open membership to very exclusive membership. Shreveport-Bossier City area krewes include:
