SCI-PORT DISCOVERY CENTER GROUP PACKAGE

Everyone is looking for that next out-of-this-world experience. For some it’s seeing a natural wonder and for others it’s having an unforgettable hands-on encounter. At Sci-Port Discovery Center, fall 2006, it’s both. The Sci-Port Discovery Center, which opened November 2006, features the world’s only interactive laser space planetarium.

This isn’t the planetarium of old where people sat in chairs and gazed up at the stars. This is touching, seeing, altering, and charting new courses for the galaxies. This never-before-seen technology will allow visitors to see the star alignments the very day they were born or peer into the future. The possibilities are endless at the Sci-Port Discovery Center.

Groups are able to go where no man has gone before by choosing from two original package deals for staff-led Sci-Port programs or individual tours. Guests will experience the Space Dome Planetarium, go from galaxy to galaxy in the Space Center’s exhibits clusters, participate in a design project, and watch the earth’s rotation at the Foucault Pendulum, all while having fun with science and space.

The package deals also include a tour of Sci-Port Discovery Center’s entire 92,000-square-foot science and entertainment facility, featuring some 300 hands-on science and math exhibits, renowned national traveling exhibitions, Discoveries Unlimited Gift Shop, Galaxy Café, and IMAX Dome Theater.
